Appalling build quality - Nice idea, but really the build quality shows contempt for their customers. Cheap and flimsy plastic, never worked properly.
Nice idea . . . - I bought this Trick Tracks Starter Set for my 4 year old nephew and was looking forward to playing with it myself! The general idea is great: Simple click together set up, no batteries needed, position your cars and release the first for a series of delighted whoops as they fly this way and that!!The modular design enabling easy expansion is great too.Unfortunately not all the tricks in this pack consistently worked. The loop was fine and set of the second car OK, but this often failed to set the 3rd going. The trigger is a little too high. Trying to help the little one understand that a tall car was always required was not in his game plan!Equally the crane release for the last trick seemed to spring too early, dropping the car short of the target and not triggering the final car. This would rather inhibit the expansion concept.Might just be my set but you have been warned by a frustrated big kid !
Battery-free fun - My little boy had this Hot Wheels track for his 4th birthday. It has eclipsed all other presents, and he has played with it for hours. He s happy to play on his own, but can t wait to show off his tricks to mum and dad. Most importantly, it requires NO BATTERIES! Every other toy in the house needs batteries, and they keep running out, and we keep forgetting to change them. We love this toy as it is hours of fun and not a battery in sight. Hurrah.
Old dog learns new tricks - Having played with Hot Wheels when I was a boy, my son was old enough for track of his own. Enter, trick tracks, the Hot Wheels version of domino toppling (if you like). Once each of the tricks are set, launch the first car to set the rest of the stunts into motion and like dominos, the more you have the longer it lasts. Then the only limits are the space you have to set it up in and even then you can cram in a lot into a smallish space. Both my son (4yrs) and I really rate the trick tracks and can t wait for more stunts (as advertised on TV) to become available. Try it... You might like it!
